These are new drawings as of 6/11/2024. I was missing my first love. I have always enjoyed my truth as a draftsman. Once married to realism, I am now in the throws of deliberately abstracting whenever the whim strikes me. These two drawings were a bit of a departure for me. I have been doing nothing but painting. I have really loved doing that, but I love drawing too. I needed to get back to where I began all those years ago. So, I did. I hope you enjoy them.

The media is graphite and colored graphite on printmaking paper.

The spiritual inspiration for these drawings comes from the New Living Translation, Romans 12:2 which says, “Do not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.

Not reality, why do it? God, the ultimate Creator has already perfectly made everything that exists. Why not use the gifts he has given me to think about His creation in a new way?

I am a man who loves the Lord, my wife and art in that order. I find that there is not enough of me to get done all of the things I find important. I am learning to ease into things instead of jumping before I consider what the outcome will be. I try to see the glass and not to worry about how full or empty it is. Loss in life has lead me to be thankful for what I have and not to be a whiner. God has provided more than is equitable considering how often I fail Him. I find that loving is more valuable than being loved. Art is and has always been the thread in my life that ties everything else together. I long for the day...
